As teachers, we have all had that student in our class who we can't figure out. It seems that the number of children who have more than one diagnosis is on the rise. In this course, you will learn the characteristics of children in the "syndrome mix". These children may have one or more of the following disorders: ADHD, LD, Autism, Tourette's, Anxiety, OCD, ODD, CAPD, Depression, and Anxiety Disorder. You will also be given information about the different disorders and you will walk away with hands on strategies to help these students succeed in the classroom.
This course is appropriate for both general education and special education teachers of students in grades K-12 and is worth 3 graduate level professional development credits through University of Massachusetts Global.
