As the release of any new standards, you need a resource and introduction to help answer questions that may arise. How do I align with curriculum, and yet keep control of the content being delivered. This course answers the questions like:
How does the Next Generation Science Standards affect my teaching of science?
What the NGSS actually say in regards to best practice?
Are there resources available that align with my district?
What is going to happen to standards on a local, state and national level?
This course is meant for the novice or the professional and all levels in between. Use the course to guide yourself to learn the impact of the NGSS and how to use them to more successfully deliver instruction in your class. The beginning of the Next Generation Science Standards is to understand the basics, and to answer questions and concerns.
This course is appropriate for both general education and special education teachers of students in grades K-12 and is worth 3 graduate level professional development credits through University of Massachusetts Global,
Please note there is an Assignment #6 due to the nature of this course, but there are fewer quiz questions.
